ENRICHMENT DAY – FRIDAY, MAY 12, 2017

Volunteers Needed!

Assumption’s School of Rock is less than two weeks away. We are looking for volunteers to assist our committees with the fabulous activities that have been lined up for the day. This is truly a special day for the students and volunteer parents alike. Don’t miss out.

The link to the volunteer sign up is listed below. There are several options for volunteers depending on your availability. There are all day or part day shifts. Volunteers for the class chaperone must be an all day volunteer. Chaperones shadow one class throughout the day to all their assigned activities and help activity coordinators as needed. All day volunteers or part time volunteers can also sign up to be activity assistants. Assistants help the coordinators run the activity and assists students as needed.

WIZARD OF OZ
Assumption School students will be performoring The Wizard of Oz. Performances will be Friday May 19th and Saturday May 20th at 7 p.m. in the School gym. Tickets are now on sale for $12.00 per ticket. If you would like to purchase tickets please send in a check payable to Assumption HSA with note in memo for which night you would like to attend. We are looking to borrow the following items tutus, ruby slippers, basket and a cow costume. If you have any you are willing to loan us please contact Maureen. Also we are in need of a large cardboard box (dishwasher, washer, dryer size).

Welcome back to the 80’s for a GREAT cause!

CLAY STUDIO SPRING SESSION Come spend Monday after school creating one-of-a-kind objects working in clay. Classes will be held May 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 2:30-3:30. Please click here for more information and to print out the registration form.

 

CONGRATULATIONS MONSIGNOR JOHN HART
“The Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD), a Catholic Charities Agency in the Diocese of Paterson, will honor Msgr. John Hart, pastor of Assumption Parish in Morristown, at its Wiegand Farm Golf Classic awards dinner on June 26.

The Wiegand Farm Golf Classic is DPD’s largest fundraiser of the year, netting more than $100,000 in 2016 and attracting more than 250 golfers. ugg outlet denver co dfo This year, the Wiegand Farm Golf Classic is moving to Sussex County and will be held at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg. The event features a full day of golf on two courses followed by a banquet, awards ceremony and silent auction at the ballroom at Grand Cascades Lodge.

Msgr. Hart, will be awarded the DPD’s Humanitarian of the Year Award, given annually to a person who exemplifies the ideals of Catholic social teaching and who displays kindness and a willingness to help those in need.

UNIFORM SWAP – COMING SOON
Coming back by popular demand… Get ready for the Uniform SWAP Monday, June 12th and Tuesday, June 13th! As you begin your spring cleaning, put aside those uniforms you no longer need. “Slightly Worn Almost Perfect” uniforms will be collected in the Crafting Room starting next month. Please do not leave your uniforms before Thursday,

SPRING AFTERNOON ART CLASS

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2017
Vacation Bible Camp Registration for this summer is ALMOST HERE! All Assumption parishioners entering Pre-K thru 3rd, as of Sept. 2017, are invited to join us each morning at the Maker Fun Factory August 7 – 11 from 9-11:30 am. Registration begins Sunday, April 23rd online only. Please visit www.assumptionparish.org to register. Teen volunteer registration also opens on April 23rd online only. Teens entering 6th graded and up are eligible to register. Don’t delay…this VBS camp will fill up fast with campers and teens!! Spots are limited and on a first come, first serve basis. Questions?
