Please click here to read an important letter from Sr. Merris about an internet safety program at Assumption. “The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother”. Dear Moms and Grandmoms,
All of us here at Assumption School wish all of you a wonderful Mother’s Day. – Sister Merris Enrichment Day – Not only does Assumption School rock – the Assumption Enrichment Committee rocks as well! Thank you for making Enrichment Day such a musically special day. Tentative Assumption School 2017-2018 calendar is online. Lateness at school has become very problematic. I hate to do this, but from now until the end of the year any child who is late is going to have to miss recess. There are always one or two exceptions, but I see the same children walking in late almost every day. Please remember to check the online bulletin on our school website for important daily announcements and updates.

5TH GRADE PARENTS:
ALL students who are 11 years old and entering 6th grade MUST have the Menactra (meningitis) and Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, acellular pertussis) vaccines. If your child has already received these immunizations, great! Please send a copy to the school nurse as soon as possible, but definitely before the start of the 2017-18 school year. If your child has not already received these immunizations, please make an appointment now, to get it done promptly. Your child must show documentation of these in order to enter 6th grade this fall. Thank you for your cooperation and please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM
During the 2016-2017 school year, students at Assumption School have been introduced and using Google Classroom in grades 2nd-8th. This cloud-service is part of the Google Suites for Education. Classroom is a web-based application designed to help teachers create a “virtual” classroom to post announcements, assignments, share resources and knowledge, as well as interact with students. In addition to Google Classroom, students have also been using Google Applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Draw, and Drive) to complete assignments and projects and submit online. Over the next few weeks, the Weekly Word will feature an inside look at Google Classroom and other technologies being used at Assumption School. This week we would like to introduce you to Google Classroom with this short video: Introduction to Google Classroom:
