Morning Drop-Off

To help ensure the safety of ALL of our children, we ask every Assumption family to follow the procedures for Morning Drop-Off:

  • Please pull to the far end of the front driveway before letting your kids (K-8th) out of the car.
  • Please do not get out of your car when dropping off.  There are teachers available to help.  If you need to help your child get into school, you must park on the street and walk him/her into the building.
  • Parking in the front driveway is not permitted before 8am.
  • The back parking-lot is for bus drop-off.  Parking in the back parking lot is not permitted before 8am.

Basketball Registration

Registration is now open for our School basketball teams. Basketball is available for boys and girls in grades 4 through 8.  Basketball registration will end on Sunday October 8th. Please register by October 8th as we need to inform the league the number of teams we are entering this year.
To register, please go online via our website, http://assumption-school.siplay.com/site/.   The link can also be found on the Assumption School website, under the “Athletics” tab.  You will then be prompted to create a login & password.  Once you’ve completed the registration process and paid in full, a confirmation receipt will be e-mailed to you immediately.

An annual sports physical form must be completed and on file with the nurses before your child can participate in any sports activity.

Afternoon Art – Fall Class

Afternoon Art is an opportunity for students to enjoy and explore art in small multi-age groups after school. Projects incorporate materials and techniques not typically offered during regular art class. Please complete the attached registration form  and return it to the main office.

4 Classes: 2:15 – 4:00
Fee: $75.00 (Includes all materials)

Clay Studio

Come spend Monday after-school at Assumption creating one-of-a-kind objects working in clay. Students will learn to use simple tools and traditional hand-building techniques as well as ways to impress texture into the clay. They will also strengthen their color and design skills as we glaze our pieces. Held 6 Mondays – 2:30-3:30; October 2, 16, 23, 30 & November 6, 13.

Come Join Boy Scouts!

Cub Scout Pack 34 invites your son to join Cub Scouting.

In Cub Scouts, your son will have lots of fun, learn new things and make new friends.  But Cub Scouts is much more than that; it is fun with a purpose. Scouting is a family oriented organization. Scouting develops character, leadership, communication skills, and good citizenship. If you’d like to learn more about Cub Scouts, stop by this year’s Basketball Clinic at the Assumption Gym to shoot hoops with some of our current Cub Scouts. Mark your calendars for this event taking place Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Assumption Girls Run for Fun

We are offering a program for 3rd to 8th grade girls that incorporates running with self-esteem with the goal that each girl complete a 5K.  We will meet Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after school until 3:45.  The program starts Tuesday, September 26th and ends Tuesday, November 14th.  The cost will be $25 a girl.  Please contact Noelie Hillebrecht at nhillebrecht@assumptionnj.org for registration information.  Happy running!! Girls Run for Fun Flyer.

Kid Chef

Would you like to know more about cooking/baking?  Well you’re in luck – Mrs. Sopira and Mrs. Guglielmo will share their culinary skills with you.  We are offering 4 days of hands on instruction in the Assumption kitchen.  Each day will focus on a particular meal and end in tasting the fruits of our labor! It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas Store!

Ok, maybe not quite yet, but preparations are underway for one of Assumption’s most magical days of the year! Santa’s Workshop will open its doors on Tuesday, September 26th from 7-9pm and again on Wednesday, September 27th from 8:15-11am in the Multipurpose Room (down the hall from the nurses office). Come catch up with old friends and make some new ones as we begin wrapping gifts and light craft projects. Please see our complete schedule below and join us as your schedule allows. And as always, younger siblings are welcome to join the fun during the daytime workshop hours.

Forensics Competition Tryouts

Calling all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in showing off their public speaking skills.  Tryouts for the fall competition will be held during the week of October 2nd during lunch periods.  The competition will take place on November 29 at St. Patrick’s School in Chatham.  Please click here to fill out the permission form.

Parent Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering on a committee is a rewarding way to show your support for Assumption School!
