HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS STORE!

Merry Christmas, Assumption! The magic of Christmas Store is just a few days away! This week, on Wednesday, December 6th, students will be able to shop for their family and friends during the day. We invite all parents to come and shop at 2:00 pm and take part in the amazing raffle packages to be drawn at 3:00 pm.

This past week, students in grades PreK3 through 5th grade should have received an information letter with a gift list and money bag. Students in 6th through 8th grade should have received the information letter only. Be sure to send your child in that day with a sturdy shopping bag clearly marked with their name and grade along with their gift list and money bag. Below is the information letter for your reference.

Many thanks to all the crafters, wrappers, and volunteers whose assistance helps make this a fantastic day for our children. We welcome all volunteers to come the day of and take part in the fun! If you would to help, please contact Michelle Carr (michelle.carr4@me.com).

Knowledge is Power: Improving Communication Skills with our Children and Learning about the Dangers of Vaping and Alcohol Use in Adolescents

Just as the older generation had to be educated about the dangers of smoking cigarettes, we are now in a place and time where our young people are faced with the challenges of VAPING. A new generation of nicotine addiction using e-cigarettes. We know that e-cigarettes are a better alternative then smoking but risks are present, especially to our youth. Come learn and talk about these risks.

Parents, please join us at Assumption on December 19, 2017 at 8:30 am to hear Donna O’Connor LCSW, LCADC and Lee Ann O’Leary LCSW give a talk entitled Knowledge is Power.

Donna and Lee Ann are Master Level clinical therapists in the field of Addiction and Mental Health with over 15 years of experience. They will help us; as parents; to improve our communication with our children and our knowledge of the dangers of drug, alcohol and Vaping use in adolescents.

Donna and Lee Ann will then speak to our 6th-8th grade students at 9:30 AM about the dangers of vaping and alcohol usage.
