Weekly Word – March 11, 2018

Note From Sister Merris

Thank you to all parents who bid and won “dress down” for all of the classes. We will have it this week for all classes and the kids can be relaxed as we begin our standardized testing week. I hope you are safe. This has been a challenging time for all of us but I know there are people who suffer these challenges everyday. Let’s pray for them and thank God for all of our blessings.

Sister Merris

Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16 – TESTING FOR GRADES 2-8

All students should be to school on time.  No one will be admitted to class during testing, they will have to sit on the bench in the lobby.  Please make sure children get a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast.  Please do not make appointments during the day during testing week.

Book and Bus forms
Grades K – 7  If you did not submit a book and bus form for your child, please download a copy from the website under “forms” and bring it to school   IMMEDIATELY.  Forms will be submitted to the different municipalities for busing.  You will not be bused or reimbursed for busing unless a form has been completed and sent in on time.

Please remember to check the online bulletin on our school website for important daily announcements and updates.

The Scholastic “Paws for Books” Book Fair is coming to Assumption School the week of March 19th through March 22th. This is a great opportunity to purchase Scholastic books for your child and yourself. There will be books ranging from pre-school age to adult. Each grade will have time to shop with their class. Class schedule will be sent out in next week’s weekly word. Books can also be purchased during the family shopping time at the end of each fair day from 2:30-3:00 pm.

New this year – we will be offering one “late night” shopping event – Tuesday March 20th from 2:30pm-5:30pm. In addition, if you cannot make it to the book fair, you will be able to purchase books online, URL address to follow.

Come take a “Paws” out of your day to help make the book fair run smoothly. Please sign up here, http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0d4aaca82fa31-2018.
