ATTENTION PRE-SCHOOL AND 6TH GRADE PARENTS

Just a reminder to all pre-school parents that flu season is upon us.  All pre-preschoolers are required, by the state of NJ, to have a flu vaccine.  Please send written documentation from your pediatrician to the nurse as soon as possible.  We require that all flu shots are done by December 1.
6th grade parents-  If your child is missing the Tdap and Meningitis vaccines we need them done immediately.  Please send written documentation from your pediatrician to the nurse as soon as possible.

ASSUMPTION SCHOOL BASKETBALL REGISTRATION

Today is the last day to register for the school basketball teams. Basketball is available for boys and girls  in grades 4 through 8. To register, please go online via this link to our website. The link can also be found on the Assumption School website, under the “Athletics” tab. You will then be prompted to create a login & password. Once you’ve completed the registration process and paid in full, a confirmation receipt will be emailed to you immediately. An annual sports physical form must be completed and on file with the nurses before your child can participate in any sports activity.

KID CHEF – FALL SESSIONS

Would you like to know more about cooking/baking? Well, you’re in luck!  Mrs. Sopira and Mrs. Guglielmo will share their culinary skills with you.  We are offering 3 sessions of hands on instruction in the Assumption kitchen. Each session will focus on a particular meal and end in tasting the fruits of our labor! Please see the flyer for additional information!

ALTAR SERVER TRAINING

Assumption Church will be conducting Altar Server training sessions for boys and girls in the fourth grade and up on Monday, October 22 and Tuesday, October 23 from 4-5 p.m.  If you are in the fourth grade or older, and would like to become an Altar Server at Assumption, please sign up by emailing Linda.macios@assumptionparish.org, or by calling the parish office at 973-539-2141.  You only need to attend one of the sessions.

CHRISTMAS STORE 2018

Christmas Store 2018 is off to a great start! Our next sessions will take place Tuesday October 23rd from 7:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday October 24th from 8:15-11:00 am in the multi- purpose room. Please note our workshop will be CLOSED Tuesday the 16th and Wednesday the 17th. As always, children are welcome during the day session!   Please see our complete schedule here.
Additionally, if you are unable to attend, but would like to wrap presents at home, please contact Christine Sidhu at christine.sidhu@gmail.com. Santa’s elves will provide the wrapping paper and labels.

Want to help us provide a great start to the week for our teachers and staff?  The  Hospitality Committee is seeking volunteers to contribute to our Monday Morning Teacher Treats.

FASHION SHOW NEWS – HOLLYWOOD’S GOLDEN ERA: A TRIBUTE TO ITS LEADING LADIES

GRAND RAFFLE TICKETS
 
 It’s time to get your remaining Grand Raffle Tickets in! All Sold and Unsold Grand Raffle Tickets are due back to school on Thursday morning, October 18th.  Sold or unsold.  Grand Raffle is a major part
of our fundraising effort.  Our goal is based on the sale of two completed books per student.  For every two books sold, your child gets the chance to win one of the awesome prizes in the student mini gift auction held on Friday, October 19th!  The more books your kids sell, the better chance they have of winning!  Check out the list of the student mini gift auction prize packages here.
VOLUNTEERS 
Set up Day and Night of Show
 
Join us Thursday morning after drop off at the Birchwood Manor to help
our Gift Auction Committee setup for the night!  Many hands make light work, so come on out and help and thank these ladies for all their hard work!  It is a great opportunity to meet other moms.  Food will be provided for volunteers. The Fashion Show Committee also needs your help on the evening of the show.  We are looking for volunteers who can spare 45 minutes of their time that night to help monitor the gift auction tables.  It is a fun way to see everyone at the show and get up close and personal with the prizes.  We are looking for people for the following three time slots: 5:45-6:30 pm6:30-7:15 pm and
7:15-8:00 pm.
