Weekly Word- January 13, 2019

  • The Morristown Police Department has asked that we keep Macculloch Avenue clear for passing traffic during dismissal effective immediately.  Therefore, we are asking cars to approach school via Ogden Place and Colles Avenue to Miller Road and then to turn right onto Macculloch Avenue and right into the school driveway.
  • Please follow all traffic rules and remember to come to a complete stop before turning right onto Macculloch Avenue.
  • Please do not park on Macculloch Avenue near the school driveway immediately before or during dismissal time.
  • Please continue to arrive at school no earlier than 2:15.
  • Please be mindful of our neighbors and do not block driveways while waiting in the car line or while the car line is moving.
Thank you and as always we appreciate your cooperation.

Get your passport ready- we’re taking off! This year’s 2019 Enrichment Day theme is “Around the World-Assumption’s Amazing Race.”  We will explore all different parts of the world with new experiences and fun-filled interdisciplinary activities.  All students spend the day moving around the school to learn about our theme from different perspectives and points of view.  Parent volunteers are needed to plan and run activities for our children on Enrichment Day which will take place this year on May 10th.  Our first general meeting will be Friday, January 25th at 8:15 am in the Multi Purpose Room.

Please join us to find out more about this exciting day at school and to help brainstorm some activities for our children.  We can’t do it without you ! Feel free to contact a member of the Enrichment Committee with any ideas or questions.

January 14, 21, 28 & February 4, 11, 25
Come spend Monday after-school at Assumption creating one-of-a-kind objects working in clay. Students will learn to use simple tools and traditional hand-building techniques as well as ways to impress texture into the clay. They will also strengthen their color and design skills as we glaze our pieces.
Please return this form along with your $78 check, for Peggy Davo, to the main office by Thursday, January 10th. All supplies are included and firing will be done in my studio. A portion of your check goes to the school.

Calling all volunteers…..
Believe it or not, it’s time to form our Fashion Show Committees for the Fall 2019 Show! This event is the primary fundraiser to support improvements at our children’s school. Volunteering is a great opportunity to work with and get to know other parents. Last year, we had almost 100 volunteers working on various committees to make the show a reality! If you are interested in helping out with Assumption’s Fashion Show, please email AndreaBopp@verizon.net. No experience needed! Please complete the volunteer form if interested in volunteering.
Thank you in advance for your support of Assumption’s primary fundraiser!

The Assumption HSA is forming a parents’ forum to empower parents to have the tools to best address current concerns with our children and adolescents.  In 2019 we realize how difficult it is to be an effective parent in a world that is full of major risks and bombarded with stress.  These forums are open to any parents and caregivers who would like to problem solve and brainstorm with other concerned parents.
Please join us in the Assumption All Purpose Room for our first Assumption Power to the Parents forum on January 15, 2019 at
8:30 am.
If possible please RSVP to Jean Jabbour at Jeanjabbour@verizon.net.

Yearbook Forms were previously sent home. You can also order your yearbook on line here.
