ACTION ALERT –FROM THE NEW JERSEY CATHOLIC CONFERENCE
Governor Murphy will deliver his Budget Message to the Legislature on March 5, 2019. We are asking for level funding in the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget in order to retain the current level of funds, including the $1,000 per pupil funding for nonpublic school transportation. We would also like to secure the $150.00 per pupil for nonpublic school security which was provided in P.L. 2018, c. 168, which was signed by Governor Murphy on January 8, 2019.
For more information, please see the attached
form.
Afternoon Art Class Winter 2019
Grades 2 – 8
3 Classes: 2:15 – 4:00
Fee: $55.00 (includes all materials)
During the winter secession we will be exploring printmaking. The students will choose a theme for their print and then create a drawing. The drawing will be transferred on to a Styrofoam sheet that will be inked and printed. They will make several prints on different types of paper.
Because of the nature of the printing process, class size will be limited. Please complete the attached
registration form and return it to the main office along with your check made payable to Diane Spetrino. A portion of the fee is donated to the school. Indicate first, second and third choice. This will help in scheduling. I will try to accommodate car pools and special requests so indicate them on your form. You will receive confirmation of your class choice.

ICE AND CHRIST SKATE A THON
Thursday, March 14th
4-6 pm
at Mennen Arena
This is an upcoming parish wide service opportunity for the 5th through 8th grade youth of our parish and school. We are partnering with Notre Dame and St. Virgil’s to offer a “skate a thon” at Mennen Arena called Ice and Christ.
The purpose of this event is to raise money for Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Paterson. Catholic Charities provides services to people in need.
To participate in the event, a signed
permission form must be returned to Mrs. Bertram by Friday, February 15th along with $7.00. A completed
pledge/sponsor form should also be completed. Participants should get pledged donations from people based on the number of laps that they believe they can complete around the ice rink. All donations are due by Friday, March 29th.
Mrs. Bertram will personally donate $1.00 for every Assumption Parish 5th – 8th grader who participates. Additional information about this event is included in the attached
