at Mennen Arena
This is an upcoming parish wide service opportunity for ALL youth of our parish and school.  We are partnering with Notre Dame and St. Virgil’s to offer a “skate a thon” at Mennen Arena called Ice and Christ.
The purpose of this event is to raise money for Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Paterson.  Catholic Charities provides services to people in need.
To participate in the event, a signed permission form must be returned to Mrs. Bertram ASAP along with $7.00.  A completed pledge/sponsor form should also be completed.  Participants should get pledged donations from people based on the number of laps that they believe they can complete around the ice rink.  All donations are due by Friday, March 29th.
Mrs. Bertram will personally donate $1.00 for every Assumption Parish 5th – 8th grader who participates.  Mrs. Marone will also attend and skate with the kids.
Additional information about this event is included in the attached letter.

In cooperation with the Morristown Board of Health and the American Pediatric Association we are reminding all parents that their children must be fever free for an entire 24 hours before returning to school from an illness.  The 24 hours does not include any time where medication was used to lower your child’s temperature.
Please do not tell your child to try to make it through the day and go to the nurse if necessary. She is presently overwhelmed with students who have come to school not feeling well but are attempting to power through the day in an attempt to be in school for a test or assignment.
Thank You

We did it and we did it well!
Thank you for your generous support of the this week’s Diaper Drive for the John Corr Family Resources Mission.

* Size 3 = 18 packages
* Size 4 = 138 packages
* Size 5 = 60 packages

The Scholastic “Dino-Mite” Book Fair is coming to Assumption School the week of March 31st through April 5th. This is a great opportunity to purchase Scholastic books for your child and yourself. There will be books ranging from pre-school age to adult. Each grade will have time to shop with their class or during their lunch (7th & 8th grades).
Family Shopping time will be from 2:45pm-3:15pm Monday through Thursday, with Tuesday April 2nd having late hours until 5:30pm. The later start time (2:45pm) will allow for all the car riders to be dismissed. If you are planning to come for the family shopping time with your child, please send a note to your child’s teacher and they will wait for you in the gym. In addition, if you cannot make it to the book fair, you will be able to purchase books online, URL address to follow.
We added an additional Family Shopping event – the book fair will be open on Sunday March 31st from 9:30am-2pm.
New this year – Ewallet – no more worrying about forgetting cash or a check! You can set up an account online for your student(s). Details will be coming home with your youngest child next week.
We are also collecting for All for Books. Consider rounding up your total or donating your change to All for Books – the money will be used to purchase books for the school. And Scholastic will match all money we raise and purchase books for Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning.
Volunteers will be needed to help set up, during, and pack up the Book Fair. A Sign-Up Genius will be provided in the next few weeks. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact Linda Papadopoulos (lindakpapa@yahoo.com), Jennifer Thackery (Jennifer.thackery@verizon.net), or Alison Uribe (uribecasa@gmail.com)
