Have a special HERO lunch on, WEDNESDAY, MAY 7th, 2019. There will be (2) choices of subs:

KID CHEF – Scrumptious Sweets
This will be hands on instruction in the Assumption kitchen for students from grades 3 – 8th grade. Mrs. Sopira and Mrs. Guglielmo will share their culinary skills and recipes with you. This session will Scrumptious Sweets with a focus on chocolate. Not only will we create delectable treats, we will also end in the class in tasting the fruits of our labor!
Here are the particulars: Class is from 2:30 – 4:00 pm.
May 1, Wednesday – Cinco de Mayo Munchies – Not Your Typical Taco, Quesadillas, and Savory Sauces.

FASHION SHOW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

You will be provided with a short list of businesses and all of the paperwork explaining the event. This is a great opportunity to help with our annual fundraiser. SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP

Assumption Enrichment Day will be held on Friday, May 10th. The Hospitality Committee provides breakfast/lunch for all of the volunteers as well as the teachers. In keeping with the theme of this year’s Enrichment Day, we will be serving different foods from around the world. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Roar VBS will be hosted at Assumption Church from August 5 to August 9. At Roar, kids discover that God is good even when life gets wild. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Wild Bible Adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s love, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Each day concludes with the Safari Celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.
Roar is for kids from pre-k 4 to grade 3 (fall 2019) and will run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Teen volunteers must be in grade 6 (fall ’19) or older. Online registration at

If you have any uniforms that your children have outgrown and are no longer going to use, please drop them off in the All Purpose Room at school in anticipation of the annual uniform swap in June.

LIKE – A Documentary about the Impact of Social Media on Our Lives
Technology is a tool. But are we addicted ? How do we stop ? Where do we start ?
The goal for this film is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to self regulate. As technology continues to progress and children are exposed at even earlier ages, education and discussion are critical to understanding how it affects us and how we can manage it going forward.
