COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHEN – BROWN BAG BREAKFAST
We have been asked by the Community Soup Kitchen to help out by supplying brown bag breakfasts on Monday mornings.
Beginning on Monday, February 3rd Assumption School will be delivering brown bag breakfasts to the Community Soup Kitchen in Morristown each Monday. Each grade will be assigned a Monday.
The Soup Kitchen supplies meals to many less fortunate who otherwise would be hungry. They are provided with a meal at lunch time and take the brown bag home. It is suggested that we provide the following:
Small box of cereal
Shelf stable milk
Fruit/fruit cup
Granola bar
Juice box
Monday, February 3rd will be Eighth Grade’s turn to bring in a breakfast bag. Please have your child bring the brown bag breakfast into school on Monday morning and deposit it in the bucket in the lobby. This is a voluntary project – no one should feel obligated.
Thank you!
HAITI PROJECT
Kids in Haiti need your help. Many kids can’t afford to go to school, so they are asking for some donations. The amount it takes to send one child to school in Haiti for a whole year is $100. That money pays for teachers, books, school supplies, and lunch. The Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey, have set up a project so that it is even easier to reach their goals. The project’s name is Circle of Friends. It encourages you to get together with five friends and each donate $20 to help these kids. We would like as many people as possible to donate. $100 may not seem like a lot, but it can change these kids’ lives forever. For more information please go to https://www.scnj.org/.

FASHION SHOW
Calling all volunteers…..
It’s Fashion Show time again! Believe it or not, it’s time to form committees for our Fall 2020 Show. As many of you know, this event is the primary fundraiser to support improvements at our children’s school. Volunteering is a great opportunity to work with and get to know other parents. Last year, we had almost 100 volunteers working on various committees to make our show a night to remember! If you are interested in helping out with Assumption’s Fashion Show, please email co-chairs Kate Ball, kateeball@optonline.net or Linda Riedell, linda@riedell.net. No experience needed! Thank you in advance for your support of Assumption School!
