For students working virtually, please note that teachers take attendance at 8 A.M. If the student is not signed in by then they will be marked absent for the day. Unfortunately, virtual students who come in late disrupt the class.
I hate to say the word “snow” but in the event of school being called off for snow, Assumption School will not do virtual learning that day – we will “celebrate” a snow day! If we are out more than two days, we will go remote on the third day. All kids need to play in the snow.
PRESCHOOL – All preschool classes will end at 10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, November 19 and 20. This is because the back parking lot cannot accommodate all of the cars for dismissal. Siblings will also be allowed to be dismissed with PreK at 10 o’clock. Please let their teacher know and they will be sent to the Preschool classroom.
Wednesday, November 18 – Grades 2 – 8 report cards emailed home.
Thursday and Friday, November 19 and 20 – Half days 11:00 o’clock dismissal. Virtual conferences. No aftercare.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, November 25, 26, 27 – Thanksgiving recess. School closed.
Monday, November 30 – School resumes.
FROM THE NURSE’S OFFICE
Just a reminder to Pre-K families that all preschoolers need documentation of a flu shot by December 1. Please send it to the nurse ASAP.
CHRISTMAS STORE 2020
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to wrap and craft these past few weeks, and to everyone who wrapped and crafted at home! Thanks to your hard work and dedication we have finished the prep work for this year’s Christmas Store and last week’s crafting session was officially our last.
Stay tuned for the Day-of Christmas Store Volunteer Sign Up Genius, which should be coming out in next week’s Weekly Word. The Christmas Store Schedule is still being finalized for the week of 12/7 – more details to follow shortly!

FASHION SHOW
At this time, in a normal year, we would be celebrating another successful Assumption School Fashion Show. Obviously, 2020 has surprised us over and over again with unexpected (and often less than ideal) circumstances.
This year, our fundraiser efforts will take place in January. They will consist of our Grand Raffle ticket sales as well as an Online Giving Campaign. We hope that all Assumption friends and family will consider supporting our efforts. Please look for more information after the holidays. If you have any questions, please contact Kate Ball (kateball@optonline.net) or Linda Riedell (linda@riedell.net). In the meantime, we pray that everyone in our Assumption School family remains safe and healthy.
