A PRAYER FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

On this day we remember Martin, a minister of the Gospel of Jesus, and your servant committed to peace and nonviolence.

On this day when there is too much hatred and greed, let us become as Martin, instruments of peace and love.

There is too much pride and arrogance that keeps us at war; let us become as Martin, people of humility and service.

There is too much bullying and words of violence in our homes, schools, streets, political speeches and in foreign lands; let us become as Martin, people who have no need to bully or seek violence, but be faithful to trust you and your reconciling love.

ASSUMPTION SCHOOL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

On Tuesday, January 19th we will be kicking off our Assumption School Fundraising Campaign. This year’s campaign will focus on our Grand Raffle ticket sales. While we are blessed that our HSA is financially stable, we still have operating costs that we need to continue to pay to have our school up and running safely for our kids. We would be remiss to not hold a fundraiser to cover these costs, as well as any additional costs that may come up during the year. This year our goal is to raise $75,000 for our school. This is a portion of what our operating costs and financial obligations are each year. We realize times are difficult for some of you right now, so your support is greatly appreciated.

In the past, the Grand Raffle represented a major portion of the overall profits of our Fashion Show. While we had portions of our sales allocated to off-premises, most of our ticket sales came from our Assumption families and friends. To ensure that we make our goal, we are asking that each family purchase four booklets. The prize remains the same, a $10,000 Amex Gift Card. This week each family will receive an envelope in their child’s bookbag (youngest if multiple children). The drawing for the Grand Raffle will take place on Saturday, March 13th. Please make check’s payable to Assumption School HSA.

In your family envelope you will also see a form for additional names of family, friends, neighbors to contact who may want to purchase a raffle ticket booklet. Please complete the form and send it back to the school. Our students will write a letter and send it out from school.

We thank you in advance for your support of our school!

If you have any questions, please contact Kate Ball (kateeball@optonline.net) or Linda Riedell (linda@riedell.net).
