SCHOLASTIC ONLINE BOOK FAIR – MARCH 15-28, 2021
SAVE THE DATE!
The Scholastic Online Book Fair is coming to Assumption School the week of March 15th – 28th. This is a great opportunity to purchase Scholastic books for your child(ren). There will be books ranging from pre-school age to middle school.
Are Grandma & Grandpa wanting to get in on the book buying action too? Look into setting up eWallet for your student(s). Simply add funds or invite family and friends to contribute. Then your student can shop online through the online book fair where you’ll discover over 6,000 products including exclusives, new releases, and value packs.
After the Fair, any remaining eWallet funds display as a gift card balance at checkout in The Scholastic Store Online. Be sure to sign in with the same email used to create the eWallet.
You can set up your eWallet now by visiting our Book Fair Homepage, https://www.scholastic.com/bf/assumptionofblessedvirgin
ASSUMPTION SCHOOL FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
We ❤ Assumption
Thank you to all those families who have sent in their books! We are heading into the home stretch for this year’s fundraising campaign! We will be announcing the winner of the $10,000 Amex gift card on Saturday, March 13th (more details to follow). Please if you have not sent in your 4 books, please do so! Given that this is our only fundraiser for the entire school year, we are asking that each family participates. The purchase of these raffle tickets greatly impact our school. All books must be turned in by Friday, March 12th to be eligible for the drawing.
We are only a little over ½ way through our goal. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to support our school, please donate to our Online Giving Campaign. A link can be found on the main page of the school’s website by clicking the “GIVING” button or simply follow the link here (https://assumptionparish.org/assumption-school-online-giving-campaign).
We also welcome company matching programs to help support our school – it’s easy to do and we are here to help you navigate this simple process! Several families have taken advantage of this and hope you will consider this as well!
Again, we can’t thank you enough for your support of Assumption School!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email hsafundraising@assumptionnj.org.

FROM THE NURSE’S OFFICE
Due to the continuing transmission of Covid-19, we would like to reiterate our policy regarding illness, in-person attendance and recreational travel.
Masks:
Regarding masks, please be sure to wash your child’s mask after each use and send an extra mask or two in with your child daily.
Travel:
The CDC and NJ Department of Health both strongly discourage recreational travel at this time. If you must travel anywhere out of the state, please know that we request a Covid test (PCR, not rapid) 4-5 days after returning to NJ. If that test is negative, then you must quarantine for a total of 7 days after returning to NJ. You must present the negative test results to the school upon re-entry. If you are unable to get a test, we require that your child quarantines for 10 days after returning to NJ.
Experiencing Covid-19 Symptoms:
To further clarify, students with Covid-19 compatible symptoms are defined as:
- At least two of the following symptoms: fever (measured or subjective), chills, rigors (shivers), myalgia (muscle aches), headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion or runny nose;
- At least one of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new olfactory (smell) disorder, new taste disorder.
If symptoms are noted at school the parent or emergency contact will be notified to pick up their child within 45 minutes. Students will be monitored and kept in isolation by the nurse until pick up.
